Chuck Grafft is the father of FBC and 4 daughters. He also has 3 female dogs, so he is comfortable being surrounded by women and would be interested in joining FEW if he could! Chuck came to Japan in 1985 with a semi 'real job' and then started FBC with his imported wife in 1988. Since then, FBC has become a household name and service for expatriate families throughout Japan, and the company has been featured favorably by The Wall Street Journal, Reader’s Digest, USA Today, CNN, The Japan Times, Mainichi Daily News, The ACCJ Journal and the Asahi Evening News.
Chuck, his wife, and 4+ children live in Redding CA, about 3 hours north of San Francisco. He presently commutes to work, splitting his time equally between the United States and Japan. With a quarter of a century of living in Japan, Chuck can claim to have survived the 1995 Kobe earthquake and many other natural and unnatural disasters. He speaks regularly in Tokyo on earthquake preparedness, and he has co-authored a program about doing business in the United States.
